I am particularly interested in the text " Prélude", which shows that Ansy Derose was at least flirting with mysticism during the last decade of his life. The song presents the plight of the Black race, which the poet Derose calls " the color of heart and courage".
However, it also conveys a powerful message about our spiritual destiny as a people, "We will weep while waiting for the day when love will reach heaven and replace hatred at the divine triangle of immortality".
I love this talented compatriot.
I feel that he was" one of the highest exponents of our nation's conscience."( François Duvalier about Jean-Jacques Accaau, leader of the Haitian masses)
