Barack Obama Referenced Haiti In His Book

Thursday Nov 06, 2008

Barack Obama referenced Haiti in his book: Dreams For My Father

"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere...

That's the world! On which hope sits! " (p293)

Should Obama Have Haitian-American In His Cabinet?

Thursday Nov 06, 2008

Congressman Rahm Emanuel has agreed to be Barack Obama's White House chief of staff.

The president-elect is expected to select other members of his administration fairly quickly.

Who do you think should be in Obama's cabinet?

Do you think Obama should promote a Haitian-American to a high position in his administration?

Tell us which Haitian-American you think is qualified for a position in Barack Obama administration?

Barack Obama, The Haitian, And Martin Luther King

Tuesday Nov 04, 2008

How do you fit Barack Obama, Martin Luther King, Mike Barnicle, and a Haitian cab driver in once sentence?

Watch the video and you will.

The video talks about a Haitian cab driver listening to an audio recording of Dr Martin Luther King's "We Shall Overcome" speech while MSNBC commentator Mike Barnicle was in the cab.

He asked the Haitian cab driver if he was voting for John McCain, he laughed

Obama - Where Did He Come From

Tuesday Nov 04, 2008

There are no proper roads leading to the village of Nyangoma-Kogelo.

Facilities are basic.

But it's here that one of Barack Obama's most committed supporters lives - his 86 year old grandmother, 'Mama Obama'.

Even at 86, Obama's grandmother still does "agricultural work".

Photos of her grandson hang from every wall. Obama was just two when his parents separated.

She recalls his last visit with pride.

"He was very happy to come back to his roots".

During the Iowa Caucus, Mama Obama sat up all night and listened as her grandson's victory was declared.

"It's like a football match and he scored the first goal. Now we are waiting for the others."

As we expect Barack Obama to win the election, will it be right to continu to call "The White House" by its proper name. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to call it the National palace?

Question For People Who Do Not Like Black

Sunday Nov 02, 2008

I remember that it was a big deal to make the Martin L Kink Holiday an official Hollyday.

The reason for some not allowing that was because Martin L. King was a black man. Still in some areas of the country, they do not celebrate this Holiday.

Now, let assume Barack Obama becomes the next president of United State of America, how will these people coop?

Mr.

Jesse Helms, the former United States Senator from North Carolina, is probably turning in his grave now

Any comment?

What Not To Do After An Obama Election

Tuesday Oct 28, 2008

After watching the final debate the o the r night, it dawned on me that Obama could actually win this thing.

If that happens, the re will be a lot of people (some of our co-workers included) who will be afraid that an Obama presidency will usher in the end of days. They'll be watching us on November 5th ( the day after the election) for signs of the end

times.

To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, I think we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:

1.

No crying, hugging or shouting 'Thank you Lord' - at least not in public

2 No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and the re are no witnesses

3.

No laughing at the McCain/Palin supporters

4.

No calling in sick on Nov 5th. They'll get nervous if too many of us don't show up.

5.

We're allowed to give each o the r knowing winks or nods in passing.

Just try to keep from grinning too hard.

6.

No singing loudly, We've come this Far By Faith (it will be acceptable to hum softly)

7.

No bringing of barbeque ribs or fried chicken for lunch in the company lunchroom for at least a week (this may make us seem too ethnic)

8.

No Cupid Shuffle during breaks (this could indicate a little too much excitement)

9.

Please no Moving on Up music (we are going to try to remain humble)

10.

No doing the George Jefferson dance (unless you're in your office with the door closed)

11.

Please try not to yell~=-BOOOO YAH!

12.

Just in case you're wondering, doing the running man, cabbage patch, or a backhand spring on the highway is 100% okay.

If I've missed anything feel free to add to the list. I just want to make sure we're all on the same page when Obama brings this thing home on November 5th. Now go get your early vote on and let's make this thing happen! :-)
