gade t vice poko janm ka jwe kompa dirèk sa djakout ap jwe la t vice ap fè sa poul fè djakout se gwoup ki jwe kompa pi byen nan moman men lè nap fè noise nou fè noise bann ti frekan.
Well in that aspect of things I can see your point.
I think all of us as a native would like to see more, but you also have to try to understand that we don't have that many resources to work with. For them to get to were there are now is an amazing accomplishment, I think.
So all we can do as fans is to continue support them and continue to proclaim which is the best (Djakout).I feel strongly that Kompa will make history all over the world.
Sorry I am a little confused what were your intentions when you said " our music" kompa is mine just as well as yours.
Look, it come very apparent that you have a love for kompa, but my opinion is that you are putting way to much into it. Kompa, to me has come a long ways and it has a long way to go. You have to take a look at the big picture.
We are a nation that has been trough so much, BUT at the the end of the day we can hear that beat and the foot start to tap, the head start to move from side to side and just for a second we can forget about all of our problems.
So you see my friend if a music has that kind of power, to me that is the true definition of KOMPA.
By the way my friend, my spelling is just fine. In regard to Kompa, if you really like our music, wouldn't you demand more from these Haitian artists, but not doing anything to come up with a better products.
I fermly believe that our Kompa can be as widely popular as regay, salsa, calipso and others.
It seems pretty clear to me that you may need a little lesson of your own when it comes to Kompa.
Kompa is not supposed to be a lecture its music that when you listen too it makes you feel better and makes you want to move to the beat. Education or no education thats not the issue music is just that MUSIC and that is what Djkout provides bottom line (By the way next time check your spelling before writting) and you talking about education! peace
I would like to tell you that you do not know much about Haitian Music, more specifically, melodie.
Djakout is popular, there ie no question about that. However they are not popular because they are making great music; its only because they are making noises.
People who know music or really know good Haitian Music will always go with bands such as T-Vice, Zinglen, etc..Do me a favor, try to listen to the words in some of the most recent Djakout musics, there is nothing in it for those with education.
If you are really a fan, please tell them to make some efforts there...
Please, first of all check your spelling before making such an assumption.
Djakout has made his fame by connecting with the people, having quality lyrics, and providing fantastic kompa! With that being said Djakout is number 1, and will continue to proclaim there title in front of ANY band. Which you already knew that. Peace!
